•Two professional associations involved in dissemination
•APCMR –Romanian Association for Constructional Steelwork (sine 2001 affiliated to ECCS)
•AISPC – Association of Structural Design Engineers
•Early contact with ENVs – academic merit, mainly Institutional phase initially incoherent and poor financed,
so no effective NAD (ENV) phase delayed accommodation of professional community
•Engineering community in general reluctant, but open for problems not covered properly by notional regula-
tions ( ex. : cold-formed steel design, connection design)
•Real implementation started in 2002, with effective results from 2004, being accelerated in 2007 after Ro-
mania became EU member , when also professional associations started to be involved
•Actually process of professional implementation continue , but still is difficult to recover the NAD and Con-
version periods (e.g. 1992-2000)
•Seismic design codification : stimulated implementation of Eurocode provisions
•P100-92 (applied till 2006) already contained some Provisions inspired by Eurocode (ex. classificstion of
sections, for steel)
•P100-2004 and rev, P100/2006( applied till the end of 2013) pushed to adopt Eurocode provisions for struc-
tural design (Eurocode format and (70-80) % aligned)
•P100-2013 (already approved and published, in application from 2014) increases the integration with Euro-
codes, (particularly for Steel and composite Steel-Concrete ), however still not 100% Eurocode 8.
P100-1/2013. Seismic design code. Part 1 – Rules for Buildings.
• Beneficiary: Ministry of Regional development and public administration
• Revision process: 2010-2013
• Includes the Code, Commentaries and Examples (informative annexes)
• Published: September 2013
• Enforcement: 1st of January 2014

5. Specific rules for Concrete Buildings
6. Specific rules for Steel Buildings
7. Specific rules for Composite Steel-Concrete Buildings
8. Specific rules for Masonry Buildings
9. Specific rules for Timber Buildings
10. Specific rules for Non-Structural Components

Annexes : A: Seismic Action, B: Eigen Modes and Periods ; C: 3D Modal Analysis; D: Nonlinear Analysis; E:;
Lateral Displacements; F: Steel Structures; G: Design of slab around columns for composite structures
•All components of structural Eurocodes translated and approved ( 2009)
•National Annexes drafted and approved (2011-2012)
•Corresponding previous standards and technical regulation ou –of- use
•However, not yet officially stated the obligation to use Eurocodes as unique Normative Documents
•Specific Design Guidelines, and Design Norms (Codes ) , design manuals, mainly based on Eurocodes
(but not 100% !) are drafted under authority of Ministry of Public Works.
•Universities are teaching structural design based on Eurocodes
•AICPS and/or Universities and other Professional Bodies are organizing training on Eurocodes
Association of Structural Design Engineers
• Is a member of ASRO
• Promotes Eurocodes by Workshops, Seminaries and Nationa Conferences , as well as by the AICPS
Journal
• Facilitates the acquisition of official Eurocode package (Romanian vs.) from ASRO (31 % dicount) for
members
• Organizes trainings in cooperation with universities Started with seismic design In 2014 is planed to start
an ambitious program with online courses /seminars on Eurocodes.
